Personal photography using your phone or personal camera is welcome during your visit, provided it does not disturb other guests or interfere with normal operations.
Professional photography, organised photoshoots and filming require either a confirmed Eikendal booking or prior approval from our team. Please see the relevant section below.
Weddings
If your wedding or wedding-related celebration is being hosted at Eikendal, you are welcome to bring your own professional photographer to photograph your event.
If you are staying at Eikendal Lodge and would like to arrange wedding or bridal photography elsewhere on the estate, please request approval in advance.
What you need to do
Send us your photographer's details and planned photography times before your event so our team can confirm access and any applicable conditions.

Matric Dances, School Dances & Special Occasions
If you have a confirmed booking or experience at Eikendal, such as a wine tasting, picnic, private function or other booked experience, you may request permission to bring your own professional photographer.
If your matric dance or celebration is taking place somewhere else and you would only like to visit Eikendal to take professional photographs, you must receive approval from Eikendal before arriving.
Please do not arrive with a professional photographer without confirmation from our team.

Professional family, engagement, portfolio, fashion, lifestyle or other organised photoshoots may not take place at Eikendal without prior approval.
If you would like to use Eikendal as your photoshoot location, please contact us before making arrangements or arriving at the estate.

Personal Photography
Guests visiting Eikendal are welcome to take photographs with their phones or personal cameras.
You do not need prior approval for casual personal photography, provided that:
- No professional photographer or photography crew is involved
- No photography equipment is set up that could obstruct guest areas
- Other guests and private events are not disturbed
- Restricted or private areas of the estate are respected

Nature & Wildlife Photography
Guests are welcome to photograph Eikendal's vineyards, landscapes, birdlife and wildlife during their visit, including with professional-grade camera equipment.
Nature photography does not normally require prior approval provided it is for personal use and does not involve a staged or organised photoshoot.
Please remain respectful of other guests, private areas, agricultural operations and the natural environment.
For commercial nature or landscape photography, please contact us for approval in advance.
Commercial Photography & Content Creation
Commercial photography, advertising shoots, branded content, influencer productions and other content created for commercial purposes require prior written approval from Eikendal.
This applies even if the photographer or content creator is visiting the estate as a normal guest.

Film Shoots, Video Productions & Podcasts
Film productions, video shoots, interviews, podcasts and other organised recordings are not permitted on the estate without prior written approval.
Please contact us before making any production arrangements.
Include the proposed date, production type, crew size, equipment, estimated duration and intended use of the footage or recording.
Our team will confirm whether the production can be accommodated and provide any relevant requirements or fees.
